Definitions

In these Terms of Use:

“Datasets” mean the collections of sets of information available on this website which are comprised of separate elements, but which can be manipulated as a unit by a computer.

“Open Datasets” mean the Datasets on the site for which a link is provided to the Open Government License – Alberta.

“Other Materials” mean all Materials on this website, excluding Datasets, but including the underlying HTML, text, illustrations, designs, icons, audio clips, video clips, documents, products, software and all other content.

“Restricted Datasets” mean the Datasets on the site for which a link is not provided to the Open Government License – Alberta.

Terms of Use – Datasets

Government of Alberta Open Data portal: You may Use the Open Datasets in accordance with the Open Government License - Alberta.

If you wish to Use the Restricted Datasets, you must obtain permission directly from the creator of the Restricted Dataset, listed in the attribution statement.

Terms of Use – Social Media

The Government of Alberta welcomes and encourages comments from readers. Comments may be received directly on the Economic Link blog or from one of our social media accounts.

Comments will be monitored and moderated on weekdays between 8am-5pm. Notifications will be sent by email to moderators as soon as someone posts a comment on the Economic Link Blog. All comments posted on the Economic Link blog will be initially held for moderation and reviewed before they are released to the public. Alerts will also be set up on all social media accounts so that the moderators are notified when someone comments, tweets, or sends a direct message.

The Government of Alberta will not tolerate comment that are offensive to an individual or an organization, rude in tone or abusive. It also reserves the right to edit or refuse comments that meet any of the following conditions:

  1. Contrary to the principles of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms;
  2. Racist, hateful, sexist, homophobic, slanderous, insulting or life-threatening messages;
  3. Serious, unproven or inaccurate accusations against individuals or organizations;
  4. Agressive, coarse, violent, obscene or pornographic comments;
  5. Messages where the sender is not the author or is otherwise unidentifiable (from spam and/or anonymous profiles);
  6. Messages for advertising purposes;
  7. Announcements from labour or political organizations;
  8. Messages written in a language other than English;
  9. Unintelligible or irrelevant messages; and
  10. Any other message that the forum moderators feel will not add to the normal flow of debate.

To protect your privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include phone numbers or email addresses in the body of your comment. Information you provide will be monitored for inappropriate or unnecessary personal information or images about the submitter or a third party, and the Government of Alberta will take reasonable steps to protect your privacy and that of a third party.

Terms of Use – Other Materials - Non-Commercial or Educational Use

All information on this site has been posted to provide Albertans with direct access to information about the programs and services offered by the Government of Alberta.

The information has been posted with the intent that it be readily available for personal and public non-commercial or educational Use and except where otherwise prohibited, may be Used, in part or in whole and by any means, without charge or further permission from the Government of Alberta provided the following conditions are complied with:

Users must not modify or alter the Material.
