This is an approved Government of Alberta capital project.

The Alberta Surgical Initiative is intended to assist in addressing surgical capacity through the expansion, renovation and optimization of existing facilities.

The project within Rocky Mountain House was completed in April 2024 and will be able to provide surgery for 120 people per month. Additionally, the project adds 4,736 square feet to the facility, including six more recovery beds, a patient support area, and an updated medical device reprocessing department.
