Aurora is building a 800,000 square foot high-technology greenhouse facility, known as Aurora Sky on 30 acres of leased land in Leduc county next to the Edmonton International Airport. It will be the largest marijuana production facility in the world upon completion. Aurora reported approximately 700,000 square feet of the steel structure of Aurora Sky has been erected, with specialty glass installed on more than 400,000 square feet of the facility, and work on the interior is progressing rapidly.
Completion of the entire facility is on track for mid-2018.
As per a July 2rd report, installation of most automation systems, as well as irrigation and climate control is complete, and the facility's critical systems are being commissioned.
