The green line LRT project, stage 1, will feature the southern leg from Shepard, up until 16th Avenue NW. There will be a total of 15 stations on 20 kilometers of the new track.
The project was approved by Calgary city council on June 16, 2020. It is the largest project in Calgary's history, and will proceed to start with utility relocation in 2021, and major construction work expected in 2024.
The Government of Alberta has committed $1.53 billion towards the Green Line project.
