The Alberta propane dehydrogenation (PDH) project will be developed in the Alberta Industrial Heartland on a 200-plus acre site. The facility will produce 1.1 billion pounds of polymer-grade propylene which will be delivered to an on-site processing plant to be converted into 1.0 billion pounds of polypropylene. Williams energy sold this project to Inter Pipeline in 2016, and Inter Pipeline made the investment decision to proceed with construction on December 18, 2017. The petrochemical plant is backed by $408 million in royalty credits through the Petrochemicals Incentive Program, awarded by the Government of Alberta.
