The Bethany Senior Center redevelopment in Calgary is a major transformation of the long-standing Bethany Calgary care home in Hounsfield Heights-Briar Hill. The 370,000 square foot project features a modern, small-home model with 420 private rooms grouped into 14-room "homes," each with shared living and dining spaces to foster a sense of community and warmth. 
The project is funded through a $114 million commitment from the Government of Alberta and a $20 million fundraising commitment from the Bethany Foundation. 
The new facility will include amenities such as a bistro, outdoor courtyards, enrichment areas, and themed community spaces, aiming to set a new standard for senior and disability care while ensuring no disruption to current residents during construction, which is targeted for completion by late fall 2027.
