Canary Biofuels is investing $18 million in an expansion that will increase processing capacity to 200,000 tonnes of seed per year, up from the current 50,000 tonnes. The facility will also produce other products, such as canola oil and meal. The project is expected to generate 40 permanent jobs and 25 temporary jobs in the region.

The project has received conditional approval for a $1.7M as part of the Agri-Processing Investment Tax Credit.
