Alberta Innovates has received $10 million in funding from Prairies Economic Development Canada to build a Carbon Fibre Test Facility at the Edmonton Research Park to commercialize technologies that will convert bitumen into carbon fibre. Harper International will engineer and build the equipment for the facility, which is expected to be in operation by early 2025.
