This project involves construction of a new rail spur, a 1.6km offshoot from the main CPKC line, crossing through Coaldale’s industrial park and directly connecting with the recently opened 323,000-square-foot NewCold cold storage facility. The Coaldale Industrial Rail Spur Line project is funded with $3.475 million from the Alberta government through a provincial grant, while the remaining $4.525 million is jointly covered by the Town of Coaldale and private partner NewCold.
