The Fort McKay Community Centre is a new 12,000-square-foot facility under construction in Fort McKay, expected to open in spring 2025. Designed to serve as a central gathering place for the community, the centre features an event stage for performances and presentations, multiple bleacher areas with seating for approximately 300 people, a commercial kitchen with a concession, ample storage, and a new parking lot with over 100 stalls. The centre will host festivals, youth and elder events, conferences, and community gatherings, supporting both the Fort McKay First Nation and Fort McKay Métis Nation, and is seen as a vital hub for cultural preservation and community development.
