The Heartland Pipeline Project is a 200 km 36-inch pipeline connecting Edmonton region facilities to facilities in Hardisty, Alberta. The pipeline could transport up to 900,000 barrels of crude oil a day. A 1.9 million barrel terminal facility in the Heartland industrial area north of Edmonton is also proposed in alignment with the pipeline. TC Energy took an impairment charge on the project in 2021, as the project is related to the cancelled Keystone XL project.
