Prairie Economic Gateway is a 2,190-acre inland logistics and industrial development east of Calgary, anchored by the 1,300-acre Shepard Logistics Centre. This initiative will strengthen rail, land, and air transport services to help move people and goods more efficiently. Cost covers site servicing, transportation & rail infrastructure and utilities. It aims to become Western Canada’s largest inland port and logistics hub, supporting significant trade and industrial growth.
The project is expected to generate over $7 billion in economic activity and create more than 30,000 jobs across the region over the next 10 to 12 years. The project represents a US$320M investment in supporting infrastructure.
