The Air Products Hydrogen Production and Liquefaction Facility will be constructed in Alberta's Industrial Heartland. The plant would capture three million tonnes of CO2 yearly and produce 1,500 tonnes of hydrogen a day. The facility will also supply hydrogen via pipeline to Imperial's Strathcona refinery.2,500 construction and engineering jobs will be supported during the construction period. The project received $475M in funding from federal and provincial governments on November 8, 2022. The project was announced on June 9, 2021.
