The Future Energy Park Renewable Natural Gas and Ethanol Project will be North America's largest carbon negative renewable natural gas and ethanol project. The project will see low-grade wheat and agricultural products transformed into natural gas and ethanol. On December 8, 2023, the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Environment and Protected Areas issued approval under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA) to construct and operate the Future Energy Park.The project is estimated to support 800 jobs during construction, and 100 operational jobs. The project was announced on May 12, 2022.
