AltaGas has reached a positive final investment decision on the Phase Two expansion of the Dimsdale natural gas storage facility, west of Grande Prairie in early 2026. Backed by multi-year contracts, the expansion will increase usable storage capacity from 21 billion cubic feet (Bcf) to 51 Bcf.

Dimsdale Phase II will also add new compression and dehydration infrastructure and drill five additional storage wells, boosting gas storage capacity in Alberta’s Montney.
