The project will see a new 40,000 square foot facility that could produce new and critical medicines, and is expected to have the capacity to produce 70 million doses annually, along with upgrading the 72,000 square foot Biotechnology Business Development Centre.

The federal government has announced $80.5M in funding for the project on March 17, 2023 as part of the Canadian Critical Drug Initiative. The Government of Alberta previous provided the proponent with $5.6M in support of the funding application.
