The project is being designed to capture 146,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year. A portion of emissions will be put back into production lines for Methanex, resulting in a 50,000 tonne production increase, while the remainder will be permanently sequestered underground.

Entropy will construct and own the capture equipment adjacent to Methanex’s facility and Methanex will supply the utilities, build the tie-ins to its facility and operate the capture equipment once commissioned. The project will support 200 construction jobs.
